MY OVERNIGHT STAY IN BAGUIO - 2016 Edition

One place that I always love to go to is Baguio City. This place brings back so many memories, from when I was young upto now that I am here in Dubai. Baguio is a place where I will always come back every time i'm home sa Pinas. And while browsing through my old Photos, I stumbled upon me and Ruby's picture when we did an overnight stay. Sobrang nag enjoy ako because 1) I am with one of my very dear and close friend. 2) Natupad ko na pangarap kong kumain sa Ketchup Food Community and 3) I finally did what I have been dreaming to do for a long time, ang mag food trip ng mag food trip sa Baguio! Thank you again my dear Ruby for joining and touring me in Baguio. Sorry din medyo late na ang blog ko. (2 years ago to be exact) But still, I want to commemorate this trip by putting it here.

We stayed at the Bloomfield's Hotel which is right in front of SM Baguio, their regular room with two twin beds costed us for 2,000.00++ pesos for an overnight stay.  Balwig and I stayed at the same hotel when I went back the second time pero medyo nagtaas ng konti ang price nila ng atleast 200.00 pesos kasi we just walked in, but Ruby has pre-booked the hotel online  na kaya she got a much better price.

Our first stop is to eat breakfast, and we went to Venus hotel for their breakfast Buffet. The food was really good and maraming choices. Gutom lang siguro kaming 2 that time kaya hindi ko na ata nagawang kunan ng picture. hehehe....... but all in all we paid around 250.00 pesos/1pax.

Loving the blue skies!

Our first meal of the day, the breakfast buffet at Venus Hotel

After Breakfast we  decided to tour the city kasi our check in at Bloomfields is at the afternoon pa, so we started our  mala alay-lakad journey. I can't remember all but from my memory and the Pictures we have, we went to Burnham Park to do some walking, Baguio Cathedral, Porta Vaga Mall, Legarda Road, Hill Top , Camp John Hay, and of course we had to go sa Mile - Hi to do some PX Goods Shopping, hehehehehe.....  I bought 2 pairs of rubber shoes for my papa adn FIL kasi it was buy 1 get one that time, limot ko lang yung tatak. Tapos we went to Good Shepherd to buy sana their famous Ube Jam, kaso walang production nung araw na yun. So I just bought other items nalang like their strawberry Jam and lengua de gato, etc.... Oo nga pala, I love their Snowballs and Alfajor cookies. Grabeng tamis nga lang na parang diabetes aabutin mo sa isang piraso.  But it was super masarap! After that we stopped by at one of her friend's small store to visit and para magpa taha ng ulan.

BURNHAM PARK

Mile-Hi Center at Camp John Hay...... Hindi parin nagbabago..... ooohh the memories! =)

Finally, after all those hours of walking and shopping, we finally went to the Ketchup Food Community (Yeheeeyyy!!! ). We ate at Canto Restaurant and ordered their Lomo Ribs! Super Sarap as in.... Paired with rice and Salad. the ribs were so tender kaya no wonder yan ang best seller nila. The amount is also sulit kasi  they had large servings so we decided to share this one. And because nag-iinarte ako at feeling ko malakas akong kumain, I also got their Chili Dog with shoe string potatoes. It was good, pero honestly I was not able to finish it kasi hindi ko kilala ung lasa nung hotdog nila. Palibhasa ang alam ko lang ay ang TJ Hotogs ng purefoods so nanibago ako. hehehe.....My friend also got their Canto Burger and it was masarap naman. I was not able to taste it at that time pero nung bumalik kami ni Balwig, ayun natikman ko. Nothing special but its good.

After Dinner, we decided to get some much needed pampering kaya we decided to get a massage at North Haven Spa, malapit lang sa hotel namin so naglakad narin kami to burn off the calories nung mga kinain namin. We paid, around 500.00 pesos each for a 1-hour traditional Hilot. Not bad ang presyo kaso we had to wait for atleast an  hour kasi ang daming tao. Surprisingly mga Koreans ang nakita ko and pami-pamilya silang lumalabas. So nag hintay narin kami knowing na we have time to kill din naman. Their hilot is really nice kasi magaan ung kamay nung nag massage sakin and I was not bruised pagkagising ko sa umaga so ok na ok siya for me.

After our massages, nag decide kami to go to session road para mag lakad-lakad and while andun kami, grabe ang flooding of old memories ko, Baguio kasi is a place where we usually go nung mga bata pa kami so grabe ang flashback. At dahil malamig ang panahon, and dahil feeling ko mas masarap ang starbucks sa Pilipinas kesa dito sa Dubai (Oo, I don't drink SB here sa DXB kasi feeling ko hindi trained ang mga barrista dito, saka parang wala silang special edge touch ba pagdating sa customer service nila...... basta ganoon!!) we got coffee, hot choco and cheesecake from them. Afterwards we went back to our hotel na to do some more kwento and nung napagod na kami we called it a night. It was a nice way to cap off our busy day and sobrang feeling ko nasulit namin ang Baguio ng bonggang bongga for 1 whole day.

BTW, We left Dagupan around 5:00am in the morning and took the ordinary bus going to Baguio via Victory Liner, I think our fare was less than 100.00 pesos per head. and took us around 2 hours of travel time.

We woke up bright and early the next day and enjoyed the complementary breakfast at the hotel. Nothing Fancy just your typical tapsilog, longsilog, bangusilog etc.. no pictures though, I might have forgotten to take some kasi kagigising ko lang. Then we went to the market para mamili ng mga pangpasalubong to the parents like gulays and other things. BTW paalala: wag bumili ng Ube Jam sa palenke at super grabe ang patong nila. I just bought some of those 3 for 100 pesos na mga anik anik to bring back to Dagupan and mga pang pasalubong for family and friends sa Dubai.

We then went back to Camp John Hay's techno hub place (i think that's what's it is called) to eat at the famous Bistro by Hill Station. I love their concept sa salads. I tried their Pork Belly and it was okey  for me but the mango sauce that na nilagay nila dun was really masarap. Ruby had their chicken Roasted Chicken and we got cakes for dessert. All in all the meal we had was very sulit. I believe we had spent a good 700+ pesos for the total meal. Would definitely be back to this place and buy their deli products sa susunod. I was actually a little bit over the budget narin kasi. Then before heading back home, I got 1 dozen donuts from J.Co kasi hindi ko pa siya natitikman and na cucurious ako sa lasa and of course to bring home as additional pasalubong.

Thank you my dear friend Ruby for the time that you have spent with me... I just love that even though we have not seen each other in ages you are still there and thank you din sinamahan mo ako dahil sa wakas natupad ko narin ang pangarap kong mag food trip sa Baguio. 'till our next journey my dear....
